Its time to file your homestead exemption for 2017 if you purchased a home in 2017. This exemption applies to homes that are your primary residence and provides you with a valuable deduction in the property taxes that you pay. Please note that HCAD has an APP for filing the exemption and it is very easy and quick versus the old method of mailing the info in. Whichever method is best for you, don’t forget to file it!
